The wedding cake holds a special place on its own little table at your reception, and the cutting of your cake remains an important reception event. Brides and grooms these days like their cake to symbolise their uniqueness as a couple, and it often brings together the style and 'flavour' of the whole wedding day. Best of all, you have the option to choose a wedding cake which can form part of your wedding feast...why not serve cake as the dessert course of your wedding? Once again, in modern times we have a huge variety of cake styles that can offer a mouthwatering dessert which can significantly reduce the overall cost of your wedding reception celebration. Hexagon tiers of choc-mint and Midori Pine-Lime Mud Cake, covered and filled with ganaches, and an outer layer of white fondant. Each tier is separated by blood red rose heads, with a fully-encrusted Swarovski-crystal monogram topper. There is a bit more bling added with the wired crystal beads amongst the top roses, and the diamante buckles on each satin ribbon on the front of each tier.

A tasteful 'bling' cake, this is made from white chocolate, cherry ripe and caramel/milk swirl mud cakes. The ivory fondant is enhanced with a pearlescent lustre, and the middle latte-coloured tier is decorated with a mexican tile pattern and silver cachous. No inedible diamantes directly on the cake! The diamante bands are simply ribbons which are removed before serving. Custom imported Swarovski crystal monograms. Silver cake plateau can be hired.

These three images were needed to show all the details of this one-off cake for a keen hang-glider and his bride. This beach - bluff - headland design is evocative of our local region here in Newcastle, where world-class hang-gliders are often seen serenely riding a thermal over the coastline.

Each tier is covered in a white chocolate buttercream and lustre-dusted white chocolate chards with petro blue ribbon. Top of each tier has chocolate curls. Sugar People, pet dog, plus three deep pink Oriental lilies - also moulded from sugarpaste...martini glass with glass pebbles holding up the top tier.

70th Birthday/50th Wedding Anniversary
A dual celebration - Raye's 70th Birthday and Ted+Raye's 50th Wedding Anniversary, this was a milk chocolate mud cake with milk chocolate ganache and cream fondant, decorated with gold inscription and trim, diamante hearts and red fondant swags and rosettes. Designed to match the invitations and decorations at the party.

50th Wedding Anniversary
This cake was designed to reflect the octagonal tiers of the couple's original wedding cake, and the colouring of the invitations decorations of the anniversary party. Caramel mud cake, with airbrushed edible metallic colour over fondant.

 A word about consultations.... Generally only wedding cake clients need to book face-to-face consultations (including cake tastings) on premises, although I do offer this service to larger special event cakes also. Most preliminary discussion, including confirming the availability of dates can be done via email or telephone. Email is very handy for transmitting images of the design styles you are interested in having incorporated into your cake design.
